Selma's Dolls was created to show and teach young kids that we don't, nor do we need to, all look the same. Every single one of us is different. We all believe in different things, wear different clothes, talk differently, think differently. And it's these differences that make people - and this world - so beautiful.
Lola wears a Mexican-inspired print that was created uniquely for her. In each doll’s clothing print, you can find a nod to the olive branch which is a universal symbol of “peace” and part of the Selma’s Dolls logo.
The Lola doll also comes with the illustrated storybook, “First Day of School,” a magical story where Selma overcomes her first day of school fears through the help of her new friends (Ameena, Annie, and Lola). The book also includes a letter to you (the parent/caretaker) and conversation starters, so you can feel comfortable starting the discussion around differences without feeling like you need to be an expert.
Selma's Dolls is an Atlanta, Georgia based company.
