Summer Camp Awesomeness: Art Museum Camp and Sewing Camp

Last week was a fun filled, and busy, camp week at TREEHOUSE!  We started each day with the younger kids (4-6yr) at Art Museum Camp, and ended the day with the older kids (9-14yr) at Sewing Camp.  Talk about a blast!!

Miss Michelle started the week off with teaching the kids about the very early artwork of cave paintings.

Each student created their own cave painting, using animals and shapes to tell a story!  All the while using natural paint made of beets and berries that they made themselves!!

The next day they learned the alphabet of the cavemen.  They practiced writing their name using the letters and then created their own!

Next Miss Michelle, a very talented local potter, brought in some clay and they all made their own pinch pots!

On the subject of pottery they learned about greek pottery and painted their very own pot!

The last day of class they learned about portraits and they all painted their self portrait!

On to sewing…Miss Mary Catherine, an avid seamstress and textile major, taught the sewing basics to an amazing group of girls! Throughout the week, they created their own tote bags, stuffed animals, masks, and aprons!  Such talent at such a young age!

We still have room in some of the summer camps…check the website or give us a call to sign up!!
