We've got a ton of fun and games….. Imagine peering through the tall grasses into a the lush forest filled with orangutans, tigers, macaws, rhinos,elephants, frogs, flora, waterfalls, and fun! Our week will be just as layered just as the jungle’s landscape. We will fill the week with painting, printing, sculpting, stamping, performing and more!
And….we might just have to create a fun music video grooving to this week’s namesake!
This class is designed for the kids who love animals, plants, art and going on big creative adventures!
Instructor: Amanda Griffeth Durant
Amanda Durant Griffeth is an amazing art educator and artist who lives here in Athens! She’s been teaching Treehouse summer camps for several years now and everyone always has the best time! During the school year Amanda works as an art teacher at Holsenbeck Elementary School in Winder, GA. When she’s not teaching you’ll find her hanging out with her husband, Lee, and their two cats, Olive and Stella. Amanda loves all art mediums but especially ceramics, fiber arts, and recently stained glass!
Aftercare for morning camps: We are thrilled to offer an aftercare opportunity through the studio Athens. Aftercare students will be walked to the studio by one of our trusted instructors and kids will eat lunch and be engaged by the Studio staff. The aftercare is 12pm-4pm and is $35 per day or $150 per week. Sign up for aftercare through the studio here.
Cancellation Policy: If you sign up for a camp and can no longer attend, please call or email us to let us know. Cancellations made within 14 days before the start of camp will be allowed a refund less a $20 admin fee. Camps cancelled less than 14 days prior to the start of camp can not be refunded. We apologize but we put a lot of energy into materials and preparation. These fees will be put towards the many scholarships and donations that we give throughout the year.
If you miss any summer camp days, you can make up classes on Saturdays. Please sign up online for a make up session.
Safety Policy + Drop Off Waiver: All classes are organized and fully staffed to drop off students. If you choose to stay here, that is fine too. If you choose to drop off your child for a class, you MUST fill out a waiver and sign IN and OUT. This is for contact tracing! It is our goal to provide the safest experience for our TREEHOUSE families.
