Won't You Be My Neighbor Camp

In this imaginative, hands-on camp, children will work together to design and build their very own miniature city using creative and unexpected materials. Inspired by the kindness-centered world of Mr. Rogers and the busy, playful communities from Richard Scarry, campers will explore what makes neighborhoods special and how people cooperate to help communities thrive.

Through art, construction, storytelling, and collaborative play, campers will create buildings, vehicles, parks, and tiny details that bring their city to life. Along the way, we’ll talk about helpers in our communities, teamwork, problem-solving, and how small acts of kindness can make a big difference.

This camp blends creativity, imagination, and social learning in a joyful environment where every child’s ideas help shape the neighborhood we build together. Campers will leave with new friendships, creative confidence, and a sense of pride in what they created as a team.

Instructor: April Stephens

April is a passionate educator who believes learning should be joyful, meaningful, and full of discovery. With a teaching philosophy centered on student-centered learning, she creates a classroom where every child is celebrated for their unique strengths and supported in their growth. Ms. Stephens brings dynamic energy, compassion, and a good sense of humor to everything she does—whether she's delivering engaging lessons or cheering on her students' progress. When she's not teaching, you can find her exploring local thrift stores, seeing live music, curling up to watch a movie or crafting anything using repurposed materials!

Aftercare for morning camps: We are thrilled to offer an aftercare opportunity through the studio Athens located in the Chase Street Warehouses.  Aftercare students will be walked to the studio by one of our trusted instructors and kids will eat lunch and be engaged by the Studio staff.  Sign up for aftercare through the studio here.

Cancellation Policy: If you sign up for a camp and can no longer attend, please call or email us to let us know.  Cancellations made within 14 days before the start of camp will be allowed a refund less a $20 admin fee.  Camps cancelled less than 14 days prior to the start of camp can not be refunded. We apologize but we put a lot of energy into materials and preparation.  These fees will be put towards the many scholarships and donations that we give throughout the year.
