From Japan’s oldest maker of soft pastels, these are far from the chalky, mass-produced sticks most artists are familiar with. They are carefully handmade in small batches by a fourth-generation family workshop that adjusts pigment and drying time according to the season. The result is pure, saturated color with remarkable depth and softness.
