DIY Mosaic Pants

I bought this great neon pants for my daughter, Maypop, a month or so ago.  I thought it would be fun to add a fun DIY touch to the pants.  Anyone who knows us at TREEHOUSE knows we love to fabric print on anything, so that is what I did to these.  The project was super easy and a lot of fun!

You’ll Need:

  • Paper Plate
  • Small Paint Brush
  • Textile Medium
  • Acrylic Paint

First, I started with a pair of brightly color jeans…they were $5 at Old Navy or you could stalk your local thrift store and find some.

I used thin washi tape to create my pattern.  The sky is the limit!  stripes…squares….diamonds..hexagons

After I was finished taping I gathered all my other materials. You will need a paper plate, paint brush, textile medium, acrylic paint colors of your choice.  I chose black and white since my pants were already so bright.

Using a 2 parts textile medium to 1 part paint.  I started with white added a little bit of black for each shape.    It is better to start with white and add the color.

Continue down the legs until your done!

and TA-DA you’re done and you have a super snazzy pair of pants.
