With the long weekend ahead, we wanted to think of a few activities we could do outside, and flying a kite was the first thing that came to mind! The only downside is that we don’t have a kite, never fear…Pinterest is here!
We found some great DIY kite tutorials, and a lot of them use materials you have laying around the house! No matter if you are going to the beach, a park, a party, or just around the house this weekend, a kite is fun and entertaining for every age!
This kite is great if you are headed to the beach, just make sure to bring some art supplies…love the driftwood! (hello, WONDERFUL)
What mom doesn’t love flowers? And what a special way to show how much you love your mom, by creating your own floral bouquet for her!
Our friends at 3 Porch Farm always have a beautiful array of seasonal flowers, which you can pick up at the Athens Farmers Market at Bishop Park or The Freedom Farmers Market at the Carter Center in Atlanta. It is so easy to get inspired by just entering their booth, as Rinne Allen, another one of our lovely and talented friends, has in the following blog post on Beauty Everyday.
Spring in the south is one of the main reasons I moved to Georgia. The first bloom paves the way to such beauty all the way through summer. The birds come out of hiding and start chirping away, it’s so peaceful to sit outside and take a listen! So we thought it was only appropriate to share our DIY Bird Wings, made by our very own, intern/teacher, Mary Catherine!
Hopefully you saved your egg cartons from last weeks Easter egg crafts!! At Treehouse, we use egg cartons a lot for paint cups. However, there are so many other ways to reuse egg cartons, we thought we would pick a few that would be fun and are spring inspired!
(ArtBar Blog)
We just cannot get enough of Art Bar Blog! These Egg Carton Chimes are so easy to make and they can be for inside or out! I love the mixture of beads and bells as well the vibrant colors. Remember to make them your own, so if you don’t have beads or bells, you can use cotton balls and transform them into a garland!
I can’t believe it’s already March…this year is already flying by!! With much of Athens students out for spring break next week, everyone will have a lot of time for crafting…especially with St. Patrick’s Day right around the corner!
St. Patrick’s Day is one of my favorite holidays…not only is green my favorite color, but (in the words of Anne at Flax & Twine) anything that gives you luck or the promise of a really good day seems a beautiful thing to me! Check out below a few St. Patrick’s Day craft ideas, surely to bring you luck!
Speaking of Flax & Twine…This gold leather four leaf clover garland is an easy yet stylish decoration, appropriate for any room of the house!
Our front store display has been a hit this winter…thanks to Mary Catherine, our talented intern and teacher! With the hopes and dreams of waking this morning to a snowy wonderland only to wake up to nothing, and with most of Athens students out of school today, we thought that we would help y’all make a winter wonderland of your own!
The display was inspired by a post from Style Me Pretty (see the original post here). With their version, they made their own cups out of wax paper, however we had a bunch of snow cone cups laying around the shop, so we used them instead!
Classes this past week have been filled with love, hearts, and of course glitter! We are still finding the Valentine’s hidden throughout the store, thanks to the Craft Inc class!
With Valentine’s Day right around the corner, we wanted to share with you a few last minute crafts to make V-Day that much more special!
Say I love you over and over, by making this sweet Valentine’s Day Kaleidoscope (Handmade Charlotte)
We have been enjoying our Art School classes so much! We started at the beginning with cave paintings and have worked up to greek mythology, Leonardo Davinci, Picasso, Degas, Van Gough, Cezzane, Matisse, Henri Rousseau, and more!
We love any holiday that encourages creative play! Halloween is such fun and silly holiday. We love making our own costumes, dressing up, and making our home feel extra spooky! We have found some really great Halloween crafts that celebrate the season. BOO- here are just a few of our favorites!
Our friends at cakies are always coming up with something amazing! oh my, I am obsessing over this amazing set of cats and friendly ghost lights.
